I can't stress this enough-if the Democrats prevail in November, Nancy Pelosi will become the Speaker of the House.  That should be enough to scare even the most liberal Republicans to the polls.  The Speaker of the House is supposed to represent the House; the House is supposed to represent the views of the American people.  Pelosi, frankly, does not represent the views of America, but rather the views of San Francisco.  Republicans are going to have to fight tooth and nail to make sure that doesn't happen.  The most important thing that Republicans can do, as President Bush has started to do wonderfully, is stress the war on terror.  Recall the smoking remains of the twin towers; recall the presence of a murderous dictator, with WMDs, in Iraq; not just for the heck of it, but to remind voters that we are in the midst of a long, destructive war.  The Republican Party must use the war on terror to expose the fact that Democrats are soft-serve ice cream when it comes to Defense and National Security, and to save America.
